Who We Are

The Vascular Society of Malaysia (VSM) was formed in March 2002 as a national professional society dedicated to promoting awareness, understanding and effective management of vascular diseases in Malaysia.

VSM brings together surgeons, doctors, healthcare providers and organisations with an interest in vascular health. The Society provides a platform for professional collaboration, education, research and the exchange of knowledge, with the shared aim of advancing vascular care and improving the quality of life of patients.

Our Mission

To promote awareness of vascular diseases and their management amongst doctors and patients, so that these diseases may be diagnosed and treated early, thus improving the quality of life of patients.

Our Role

As a national body representing the interests of vascular health, VSM works to support the development of vascular surgery and related medical fields while encouraging greater understanding of vascular diseases among healthcare professionals and the public.

The Society serves as a platform for education, research, professional exchange and engagement on matters relating to vascular diseases and their management.

What We Do

Education & Professional Development: VSM organises scientific and educational programmes for its members and other healthcare providers, supporting continued learning and the sharing of knowledge in vascular health and care.

Public Awareness: The Society disseminates relevant information on vascular diseases and their management through educational programmes and mass media, helping to strengthen awareness among the public as well as the medical fraternity.

Research & Knowledge: VSM encourages and facilitates research, publications and presentations on vascular diseases. Through research and the exchange of information, the Society seeks to enhance understanding of vascular disease and its management.

Professional Collaboration: VSM collaborates with similar bodies worldwide and establishes professional connections among individuals with common interests. These collaborations facilitate the exchange of ideas and information in pursuit of better care for patients with vascular diseases.

Advocacy: The Society represents and voices issues relating to vascular diseases and their management to relevant authorities, contributing to dialogue on matters affecting vascular health in Malaysia.

Building National Knowledge: VSM seeks to develop a data bank covering aspects of vascular diseases in Malaysia, supporting the development of a stronger national knowledge base on vascular health.

Our Community

VSM brings together professionals involved in the management of vascular disease, including vascular surgeons, other doctors and healthcare providers, alongside institutions and organisations that support the Society's work.

The Society provides its members with opportunities to participate in scientific and educational activities, access Society publications and contribute to the advancement of vascular health.

VSM also recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to the Society or to the field of vascular surgery.
